How MPC Stepped In

The story began when an eagle-eyed team member at MPC stumbled upon a Facebook post on the popular "Made in Canada" page. With around 1.3 million followers, this platform for sharing proudly Canadian-made products featured a heartbreaking announcement. A Canadian manufacturer of flowerpots, integral to Ontario’s greenhouses for over 40 years, was planning to cease operations due to the owner's impending retirement.

Recognizing both the legacy at stake and the opportunity to keep Canadian-made products thriving, MPC’s leadership team reached out immediately and proposed a strategic transition.

Within weeks, Clifton Plastics’ operations were moved to MPC’s facility in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. This relocation offered not only a new venue but also access to state-of-the-art technology and a talented workforce.

Revitalizing Equipment and Engineering Innovation

MPC didn’t stop at simply moving production. They invested in refurbishing and upgrading equipment. This investment ensured continued production quality and efficiency.

And true to MPC’s culture of innovation, they saw even more potential. By engaging directly with greenhouse clients, MPC began reimagining what the next generation of flowerpots could look like. Their goal? To create a "super pot" that combines the best features of traditional models that meets the industry's growing demands while maintaining its unique identity.
