Hemlock siding is similar to cedar, but has a lighter colour and more distinct grain pattern. Hemlock is a great siding option because it doesn’t contain extractives (waxes, fatty acids, resin acids, and terpenes of a tree), so it’s not prone to bleeding. This makes is an excellent product to stain and paint.
