A Love Lantern

The LOVE design. For Valentines Day !

I admit it. I got a bit fixated on letters doing doing the monogram series.... but could the reverse be done? Could the letters be back-lit in some way?

Well, answer is yes. So taking my cue from the "summer of love" I chose some paisley and little bursts and then finished the letters with tiny cuts creating a sort of hand-stitched detail that is really very sweet. Although there is a lot of detail, the design is still strong. Currently only available in medium size.... but this design works best in maple and oak.

I make these beautiful lanterns from glass and Maple, Black Walnut or white Oak from my home near Toronto, Canada.


I design all my lanterns and then cut the cozies from natural woods. I don't outsource the work, I make the lanterns from start to finish. Not only are my lanterns beautiful they are really practical as well. The wood exterior can be exchanged with any of the other styles or woods I offer. So you can have the style in this listing and then with just the purchase of a spare cozy you can switch over to a mandala style or a mid-century style or any of the other styles available in my shop. You can change from light wood to dark wood whenever you wish.


I use artificial candles such as those sold by luminara. Live flame tea-lights work out really well but, of course, use carefully at your own risk. I recommend artificial candles.


Note: Wood grain is a natural occurring characteristic therefore grain pattern and actual color will vary.
