A Still Sunlit Day in the Field
This cyanotype captures the serene beauty of a quiet, windless afternoon. The soft sunlight filters through nature’s delicate details, illuminating the peacefulness of the scene. In this cyanotype, the absence of movement invites a sense of calm and purity, as if time has momentarily paused in the embrace of the sun. The deep blues of the cyanotype process enhance the stillness of the moment, evoking a meditative space where nature's quiet rhythm can be felt and experienced.
Starting with real botanicals that I have harvested, dried, and pressed throughout the seasons; the original cyanotype is hand-made using sunlight, photographic chemicals, and developed in a water bath.

About Cyanotype:
The cyanotype is a photographic process that produces a Prussian blue monochrome print. Developed in 1842, this technique utilizes a photosensitive solution that reacts to sunlight exposure. Plants act as UV shields, leaving their impressions on the paper. Each cyanotype print is unique, as variations in weather conditions or the distribution of the photosensitive solution can affect the shades of blue and imperfections, adding to the charm of this artisanal printing technique.
