Algonquin Park letterpress art map
This is a slightly absurd map of Algonquin Park. The poster itself is 10.5x13.5" in size, printed on an old letterpress in Hamilton, Ontario on thick, creamy-coloured Neenah paper.
The land is Pantone 7478U, a refreshing shade of minty blue; the lakes are a deep golden olivine, Pantone 3995U. The graphics are slightly debossed. I came up with the concept, text, and layout; graphics were illustrated by Joel Malk. Inspiration for the map came from the Wes Anderson scout film "Moonrise Kingdom"; "Northern Cookbook", a cheeky illustrated 1960s cookbook about Northern Canadian cooking; and, naturally, both the wonder and challenge of Canada's backcountry camping scene.
Please note that the shade of paper used in our Algonquin map is extra creamy and does not match our other works.
