Jagged Relic
Jagged Relic is imagined as a celestial fragment—an eroded meteor or a strange, ancient object cast down from the void. I wanted to capture the feeling of a relic that has been weathered not by Earth’s wind or water, but by the high-speed friction and cosmic forces of space.
The sculpture is carved from solid Oak, where the sharp, aggressive ridges represent the violent entry of an object into our atmosphere, while the smooth, hollowed-out voids suggest a surface worn away over eons of light-years.The piece is grounded on a heavy, weathered white oak pedestal, acting as a terrestrial anchor for this "space-born" form. My goal was to create a sculpture that feels like a discovery—a piece of another world sitting quietly in your own.
