Navcast works with coastal fishing communities across Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, helping them face challenges like climate change, poverty, and declining fish stocks. These issues are made worse by illegal fishing and extreme weather. To support these communities, Navcast created the Alon ecosystem—a solar-powered, satellite-based tool designed for small fishing boats. Alon helps improve resilience by offering practical solutions for monitoring, climate adaptation, coastal awareness/security, fisherman safety and fish provenance traceability. It benefits a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, marine scientists, law enforcement, fishermen and fish processors.
