Out of the Vase I
In this cyanotype, flowers are arranged outside the vase, while usually they are supposed to be inside.
As a flower lover, I delved into Chinese traditional flower arrangement and Japanese Ikebana seven years ago and have since enjoyed both arranging flowers and collecting various vases. Inspired by the elegance of Delftware, this cyanotype merges the art of floral arrangement with the graceful flow of the vase and the deep, rich hue of cyanotype blue.
Starting with real botanicals that I have harvested, dried, and pressed throughout the seasons; the original cyanotype is hand-made using sunlight, photographic chemicals, and developed in a water bath.

About Cyanotype:
The cyanotype is a photographic process that produces a Prussian blue monochrome print. Developed in 1842, this technique utilizes a photosensitive solution that reacts to sunlight exposure. Plants act as UV shields, leaving their impressions on the paper. Each cyanotype print is unique, as variations in weather conditions or the distribution of the photosensitive solution can affect the shades of blue and imperfections, adding to the charm of this artisanal printing technique.
