Sumac Salt & Pepper Blend

Origin: Persia, Turkey.

Profile: Tangy, Sour, Fruity, Salty.

Uses: Grilled meat, a garnish for dips and salads, sprinkled over rice.

Fun facts: The name sumac means “red” in medieval French, Latin, and Syrian languages. In addition to popular use as a spice, sumac was used to tan hides and is sometimes referred to as tanner’s sumac. This is a great substitute in dishes where you would normally use lemon.
