Saucy Dotty's Gourmet Sauce

Bold...exciting...saucy...and we aren't talkin' about the sauce! We are talking about Dot Worobetz - the wonderful lady behind Saucy Dotty's Gourmet Sauce.

​"Saucy Dotty's Original Gourmet Sauce" is the end result of a decision to put age restrictions, other peoples' opinions, and other such nonsense aside and give an idea a chance. 

The sauce itself is at least that bold, with a balanced partnership of sweet and savoury. It can be used as a straight-up sauce, a marinade, glaze, dip, pizza base, as well as an ingredient in chili and stew... to name a few.

It all started with a tour of the Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre!  Dot, who at the time, was the President of the local Probus Club attended a tour of the facility with her Probus group.  The tour guide, Chef Emilio, asked the members of the group if they had any recipes that they would like to put into production and explained that the Centre would help kick off new businesses.  Dot spoke up and said she had a family gourmet sauce recipe that had been handed down by her Aunt - thus beginning what was the start of the Saucy Dotty's “Original” Gourmet Sauce.

 The Original sauce has a very nice balance of sweet & spicy, with it’s molasses base giving it the silky smooth sweetness that everyone loves.  The small amount of chilli sauce that is included in the recipe gives the sauce an extra kick — it is highly addictive!

It didn’t take long for Dot to sell out of her first batch, and after the success of the “Original” sauce, Saucy Dotty’s “Sweet” was developed. It has the same great taste as the “Original,” but without the extra spice.
