Crazyhouse Fabrications carries on a multi-millennial tradition of blacksmithing and an even longer tradition of humans teaching one another and working hand-in-hand to craft practical and creative materials.
Blacksmithing, the act of forging and crafting of iron, is considered to have been established in Bronze Age West Asia around 1500 BCE. This vital skill quickly spread as our civilization entered the Iron Age. Blacksmithing was brought to Canada in the 1670s (it is not known to have been previously part of Indigeous culture prior to this). We carry on this long-lasting human tradition as blacksmiths today.
While the team has been at it for many years now, we officially registered Crazyhouse Fabrications as a business in 2024. We chose a business name that reflects who we are—a local group of interesting people—and while our main focus is blacksmithing, we create a whole lot more.
