Ona's Bakery

Ona's Bakery was founded with a passion for creating high-quality, nutritious meals for individuals on the go. Our journey began with a vision to offer savory hand pastries with a unique taste and origin, that combine the convenience of fast food with the taste and quality of gourmet cuisine. Our commitment to using only the best ingredients and partnering with local suppliers has been the driving force behind our success. 

Ona's was founded by 3 brothers from Guelph, ON in 2023 who saw an opportunity to share a part of their culture and upbringing to a broader Canadian audience. They were born in Andkhoy, Afghanistan and immigrated to Canada over 21 years ago. Growing up their mom would make ‘Pouchak’, which is a savory pastry typically filled with beef, onion, and spices. Pouchak was comfort food for them and they wanted to take their mom’s recipe, add their own spin to it, and share this experience within the Canadian market. In the Uzbeki language (commonly spoken in Andkhoy), ‘Ona’ means mom, hence the name of their business being Ona’s Bakery.
