At the heart of my pottery studio is a love for creating thoughtfully designed, functional work meant to be *used*—daily, joyfully, and with intention. Each piece is crafted with care, balancing clean, simple forms with a deep attention to weight, detail, and how surface interacts with shape. Whether it's your morning coffee mug or a serving dish at the center of a family meal, my work is made to be part of real life.
Rooted in tradition and inspired by the present, I draw on historical influences while always exploring fresh ideas and innovative twists. There's a pulse of energy and enthusiasm in every piece I throw—a kind of quiet joy built right into the clay.
My journey with clay began at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, where I studied ceramics with Roger Kerslake. In 1994, I dove in full time, apprenticing with Cunningham Pottery in Des Moines, Iowa. From there, I earned my BFA in ceramics from NSCAD in Halifax, Nova Scotia, specializing in wheel throwing, mold making, and the vibrant art of Maiolica glazing.
After a stint as a ceramics technician, production thrower, and instructor, I planted roots in 1997 with the launch of my own studio and showroom in Neustadt, Ontario—a charming village nestled in the rolling hills of Grey County.
This is pottery with purpose. Made with passion. Designed for everyday life.
