Clean Core Research
Ontario
Clean Core Research (CCR) is a Canadian, federally incorporated non profit dedicated to advancing the safe and responsible adoption of clean energy technologies.
CCR conducts full scale destructive testing of electric vehicles, lithium ion batteries, energy storage systems, and emerging technologies such as hydrogen under real world failure conditions. Rather than relying on simulations or assumptions, CCR produces independent, data driven insights using research grade thermal imaging and CBRNE level gas analytics to quantify heat release, toxic byproducts, structural impacts, and risks to human health and the environment.
CCR’s work supports informed decision making across the clean energy ecosystem, translating complex test data into practical outcomes for workplace and public safety, facility and infrastructure design, emergency response and operational planning, policy and regulatory development, and workforce and first responder training.
Through partnerships with government, regulators, academic institutions, industry, and emergency services, CCR addresses the gap between rapid clean energy deployment and real world risk management. A core focus of CCR’s research is understanding not only failure events, but their downstream and post incident impacts, including exposure risks, material degradation, and safe re entry considerations.
As a non profit organization, CCR operates with a clear mandate to provide objective evidence that enables clean energy innovation to scale without compromising safety, resilience, or public trust.
