Lamps Design Studio is a Toronto-based studio founded by designer Deisy Sosa, specializing in handcrafted sustainable lighting and artisan home décor. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handmade in Ontario, combining artistic craftsmanship with natural materials, rich textures, and timeless design inspired by nature, architecture, and light.

With a background in advertising, marketing, and graphic design, Deisy brings together her Latin heritage, artistic vision, and passion for sustainable design to create lighting that transforms spaces with warmth, character, and originality.

 

What We Create

Our collection includes handcrafted lampshades, pendant lighting, night lights, light boxes, and decorative illuminated pieces made using carefully selected materials such as:

• Banana paper sourced from protected reserves in Brazil
• Japanese paper
• Mulberry paper
• Natural fabrics and textiles

Each design is individually handcrafted, making every piece unique. Our signature banana paper lampshades celebrate organic textures, soft illumination, and contemporary artisanal design.

Safety & Quality

Our lampshades feature self-adhesive panels rigorously tested in Lighting Association Laboratories and certified to pass the glow wire test, meeting British Standard for Luminaires (BS EN 60598-1-2008). This ensures enhanced safety and peace of mind. Any fabric, textile, or paper laminated to these panels becomes fire-resistant.
