Who We Are
ACM Panelworx is a Canadian building envelope manufacturer specializing in architectural metal panel fabrication, custom exterior systems, and technical design support. With roots dating back to 1969, the company has evolved from a family business in the curtainwall and glazing industry into a specialized manufacturer serving complex architectural projects across North America, with plans to expand its panel manufacturing capabilities to a global market.
A History in the Building Envelope
The Mrkalj family’s experience in the building envelope industry started in Toronto, Ontario.
In the mid-1990s, the company expanded into aluminum composite panel purchasing and installation. By 2006, it had moved into in-house panel fabrication, completing its first fabrication project for the Windsor International Transit Terminal rebuild.
In 2007, ACM Panelworx Inc. was formally established as a panel manufacturer. Since then, the company has expanded its capabilities beyond traditional panel fabrication to include custom building envelope components, sunshades, cladding systems, custom extrusions, perforated panels, custom curved geometric forms, and other architectural exterior systems.
Today, ACM Panelworx provides design assist, estimating, technical drawings, engineering, digital modeling, 3D laser scanning, fabrication, and installation support, working with architects, general contractors, building owners, and subcontractors from early design through manufacturing.

A defining part of ACM Panelworx’s history has been its focus on complex geometries, and highly customized exteriors. The company has developed solutions involving oversized panels, curved forms, natural metals, integrated sunshades, and unique and effective installation methods.
Its early involvement with design assist process allows the team to help project partners evaluate materials, develop fabrication strategies, coordinate building components, and turn ambitious architectural concepts into manufacturable systems.
