VĀRĀ Heritage Teas is a BIPOC, women-led small business offering hand-blended, premium Indian teas steeped in heritage and wellness. Our artisanal blends are crafted in small batches using ethically sourced Indian loose-leaf tea and locally procured botanicals — free from additives and rich in cultural storytelling. At VĀRĀ, every cup honours tradition, celebrates community, and invites moments of calm and connection. We market through guided tea tastings, local farmers' markets, and elegant, sensory-focused experiences that let customers taste the soul of every blend.
Rooted in ancient ayurveda tradition and reimagined in Ontario, VĀRĀ is a BIPOC, women-led tea atelier offering hand-blended, small-batch loose-leaf teas crafted with premium loose leaves and locally sourced botanicals. Inspired by ritual, wellness, and storytelling, our blends celebrate culture, calm, and connection — thoughtfully packaged and brewed with intention. Each cup of VĀRĀ is a sensory journey back to heritage, steeped in purpose, love, and soul.
At VĀRĀ Heritage Teas, sustainability is not a trend — it’s a core pillar of how we craft, package, and serve. We support sustainable practices by focusing on conscious sourcing, low-waste production, and intentional packaging. Our tea leaves are ethically sourced. All herbs and botanicals — like mint, fennel, lemongrass, and ginger — are locally sourced from local retailers and wholesellers and small grocers within the GTA and Durham Region to reduce transport emissions and support the regional economy. Our teas are hand-blended in small batches to reduce overproduction and waste. Instead of plastic-heavy options, we use kraft-based, recyclable pouches and reusable jars for sampling. Our event decor and gift kits are styled with upcycled cloth, reusable infusers, and compostable fillers sourced from local businesses. In our tea-making process, we emphasize zero-waste brewing (loose-leaf only, no sachets or microplastics) and composting of used herbs wherever possible. We also promote mindful consumption — encouraging customers to slow down and sip with intention rather than treat tea as a disposable product. From farm to steep, VĀRĀ is committed to reducing our footprint and increasing our impact — thoughtfully, locally, and beautifully.
VĀRĀ is more than tea — it’s a sensory experience, a wellness ritual, and a cultural story in every sip. Each of our blends is small-batch, hand-blended using premium loose-leaf teas and locally sourced herbs and spices from trusted grocers across GTA. Inspired by my roots in Kolkata and reimagined for the Canadian community I now proudly call home, VĀRĀ reflects: Sustainability – compostable packaging, zero-waste brewing, and thoughtful sourcing Wellness – caffeine-conscious blends that soothe, uplift, and restore Community – engaging tea-tasting events that invite conversation and connection Representation – as a BIPOC woman entrepreneur, I’m passionate about inclusion, slow living, and mindful commerce I’ve had the privilege of showcasing VĀRĀ at farmers’ markets in Ajax, Port Perry, Whitby, Uxbridge, and Brooklin — and the love, support, and enthusiasm I’ve received from the community has been both humbling and energizing.
