Snowy Prints
A child and his mother go for an adventure—a walk in the snow! Along the way, they find all kinds of interesting animal tracks. There’s a fox, a deer, a rabbit, and lots of birds and squirrels. The tracks lead to burrows, nests, and other types of homes for the forest critters. At the end of the walk, the child finds an extra special set of tracks—his own!
This charming story in verse is sure to delight young readers and instill in them a love of nature in any season, including the winter. So why not go for a walk in the snow? Kids can bring this book along with them on their own adventures as they try to find as many snowy prints as they can.
Catherine Nevin-Pike is a registered nurse and mother of two sons. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, no matter the weather. As a family, they enjoy walks, hikes, running, and swimming. Nevin-Pike’s eldest son loved the outdoors at a very early age, and they would frequently go outside and find adventures to go on together. Watching his eyes light up when he saw various animals and their corresponding prints inspired Nevin-Pike to write this book.
Nevin-Pike lives in Barrie, Ontario, with her husband, their two sons, and their two cats.
