Lockdown starts during a global pandemic. 

You are 6 weeks pregnant. While all of your friends are having Zoom parties and evening glasses of wine, you are experiencing some interesting first-pregnancy - things. 

And your first craving? Rotisserie chicken. Weird, yes, and even weirder is that this craving is so specific that your average grocery store rotisserie chicken will not suffice.

No, that would be too easy for your husband to find. 

You want the rotisserie chicken you had while living in Germany, in 1998. 

Of course, you can't travel to Germany for this craving. You could try to blame that on the pandemic, but in reality, global shutdown or not, you probably weren't going to fly across the ocean for chicken regardless. 

Like much of the population, you give in and buy yourself an air fryer, making sure to get one with a rotisserie function. Thank you, Instant Pot Vortex Plus! (Not sponsored, btw.) And then, you begin the troubleshooting of figuring out all of the spices that were used on this very specific chicken. 

After some trial and error, (let’s be honest - a LOT of trial and error) you figure it out! And create the BEST CHICKEN you have ever had! And continue to make it every week until your son is born.

That Christmas, you send some to family and friends as a little stocking stuffer-type gift. Before you know it, you are getting requests for more mere months later because they have run out and this is now the only seasoning they will use on chicken. 

Years later, this seasoning will be known as Frakkin' Lickin' Good Chicken Seasoning, a little homage to Battlestar Galactica. 

But to us, it will always be known as the spice that launched a company.
