The Art for Aid Shop is the fundraising vehicle that helps our program to get much needed art supplies into some of the most remote Indigenous schools in Canada. Art invites creative expression, it can help to break isolation and it supports positive mental health for youth in resource challenged community schools. Most schools do not have a sufficient budget to offer sufficient art supplies for their classrooms.
Our store features many beautiful art products using the art of Art for Aid Founder, Colleen Gray. All proceeds from our store go towards supporting this important work.
Colleen is an Indigenous artist of Mi'kmaq, Acadian and Irish descent living near Carleton Place and Smiths Falls. In 2019 she was awarded the Governor General of Canada's Sovereign Medal for Volunteering for her work with Art for Aid.
The program has been in operation since 2013, is volunteer run, and there is no cost to the schools we support. To learn more about the work of Art for Aid visit our website at www.artforaid.ca
