Butter Bell, Rook

A "french butter bell" to keep butter soft and fresh. Meausres approximatelty 6cm wide by 14cm high.

To use: Add water into the bottom container and spread your butter into the lid. When you close it, the water creates an air-tight seal keeping oxygen out and the butter stays fresh and soft.

My shapes are inspired by historical Victorian 'chimney pots,' cathedral architecture and the principals of the Arts & Craft movement. I created my unique glaze recipe to resemble the frost-coloured lichen that grows on weathered limestone and granite buildings and headstones.

Handmade in Eastern Ontario. Wheel thrown.
