Extension Springs
An extension spring is a close-coiled helical spring that offers resistance to a pulling force. They are made from round wire , coils are usually close wound and in contact with each other. The are different from compression springs from a loading standpoint, in as much as the coils may be wound so tightly together that an effort is required to pull them apart.
