Flora or Fauna III
This cyanotype captures the transition from flora to fauna—a wondrous deer nestled in the woods, adorned with flowers and leaves. One summer evening, as I walked the trail at dusk, I encountered this graceful creature. The sun setting in a shimmering glow, casting soft light that danced through the trees.
Starting with real botanicals that I have harvested, dried, and pressed throughout the seasons; the original cyanotype is hand-made using sunlight, photographic chemicals, and developed in a water bath.

About Cyanotype:
The cyanotype is a photographic process that produces a Prussian blue monochrome print. Developed in 1842, this technique utilizes a photosensitive solution that reacts to sunlight exposure. Plants act as UV shields, leaving their impressions on the paper. Each cyanotype print is unique, as variations in weather conditions or the distribution of the photosensitive solution can affect the shades of blue and imperfections, adding to the charm of this artisanal printing technique.
