An independent specialist in one-off and small batch handmade furniture, bespoke cabinetry and architectural millwork in the Greater Toronto Area. A resourceful designer-maker, Steve Culumovic uses local, sustainably sourced woods including storm-felled urban trees of sentimental value, and ash culled to prevent the spread of the Emerald ash borer, to create furniture with deeply personal stories. With a well established practice of sourcing Ontario and Canadian made wood products, Steve preserves a level of craftsmanship and understanding of traditional joinery methods not easily found today. A flexible creative shop offering collaborative design, natural low VOC finishes, milling and custom lathe-turned hardware; interpreting ideas and bringing them into being since 1995.
