Grit Patch
The Grit Patch is a 4.5” square of hand-embroidered sashiko on upcycled denim. Your entry point into visible mending.
Each Grit Patch is stitched by hand in my Toronto studio using traditional sashiko techniques. No two are exactly alike. Choose your pattern (crosses, persimmons, or clouds) and your base (black, light blue, or dark blue denim).
This is a blank slate for your creativity. Sew it over a worn knee, a frayed pocket, a thin spot that’s about to become a hole. Or place it somewhere unexpected just because you want to.
The patch is meant to be hand-stitched onto your garment. It takes about 20-30 minutes and basic running stitch skills. If you can sew on a button, you can attach this patch.
