Iso-Sill: Stud Wall Isolation Pad

The Iso-Sill™ and Iso-Washer help prevent structure-borne noise from transmitting through the wall into adjacent areas above and below the partition.

Flanking sound can significantly reduce a wall assembly’s acoustic performance by up to 10 STC points. Manufactured using reclaimed rubber and made with high damping, permanently elastic acrylic polymers, Iso-Sill™ is an environmentally friendly ‘Green’ product. Iso-Sill™, unlike fibreglass or similar materials, remains entirely unchanged by water or moisture encountered on the job site.

The Iso-Sill™ pad adheres to meticulously controlled density standards, ensuring reliable, long-term service.

Installation is quick and straightforward using mechanical fasteners, polyurethane-based construction adhesives, or various thin-sets and mortars. The Iso-Sill™ is used in continuous strips on both the top and bottom plates to ensure the sound-rated assembly will be decoupled and remain fully effective.

When used in stud assemblies with Iso-Washers, it effectively decouples the framing from the base building, enhancing its efficiency. The Iso-Washers are used at fastening points through the top and bottom plates to ensure that there are no hard connections between the stud wall and the building structure fasteners.
