“The Flying Dutchman”
When I found this very tatty ship painting, I knew it would make a fantastic ghost ship. The painting itself looked like the ship had faded into the mist and was lost at sea. So I resurrected the ship by transforming it into the fabled Flying Dutchman, destined to ferry those lost at sea to the next life.
Collected locally in Ontario, this small vintage painting was rescued along with another, and both were in rough shape. They were very, very dirty! No hanging wire, bit dented. So I gently cleaned them and put them in new, modern frames. These are replica paintings, created to emulate the style of old European masters. I have found similar paintings before, almost identical, examples of mass produced artwork.
