As an elementary educator with 30 years of experience I have a professional understanding of early childhood development. I am fundamentally aware of the need for children to have toys that encourage open and explorative play. This is the reason why I started making toys. Wooden toys promote sensory play, creativity and connect the child to the natural world. My toys are made for durability and safety and provide an eco-smart, natural product to be enjoyed for generations.
I source all wood from local Ontario suppliers and only use Canadian wood. All wood is planed, measured, cut, assembled, sanded, and finished in my home shop in Brampton.
All material that I use is from sustainable Ontario sources. All toys are finished with 100% tung oil to create a non-toxic, food safe finish. I avoid paints to feature the natural wood grain and in the few instances when the wood is coloured, I use food dye, so the toys are safe for young hands and mouths.
